(now replaced, along with many others)
Restricted Menu during xmas party night
(sorry-we should have advised you in advance)
No Bin in Bathroom
(now added)
No specific Low Cal options on menu - 3 mentions
(yes, but we there is grilling/poaching/steaming of items and sauces can be ommited or varied on request, just let us know)
Bathroom Refurbishment Needed - 2 mentions
(yes, this one, rm 22, has been done now)
Softer Mattress Required (all our mattresses were renewed in 2000 and seem to suit 99.9% of our guests, many of whom appreciate their comfort and quality-Slumberland, etc.Though they are probably firmer than what many people have at home, they should be OK for a night or two).
No Continental Quilt on Bed (not sure about this one, all our beds have quilts on top-for additional warmth there are blankets in all rooms)
Stop Playing Music in Restaurant - (maybe if things are busy, but generally you do need something in the background)
Shower Poor (now replaced)
Shower Problem & Bathroom Door (replaced and fully refurbished now)
Poor TV position (some people may find it high, but a some guests say the normal position we use is too low)
More Parking - 4 mentions (now added)
Larger Bathroom wanted (please ask when booking)
Only One Chair in room (only 4/5 star hotel have to provide two chairs. When space permits we always place two chairs in a bedroom but some only have a stool and chair)
Brighter Bathroom Light (will be d/w when bathroom is ref'bd by late 2001)
Availability of Porridge not Advertised (quite right, we serve it but it's not on the breakfast menu-it will be added next reprint)
Availability of Stationery not Advertised (quite right, it should be mentioned on the hotel info stuff in the bedrooms-it will be added next reprint)
Only a Shower in bathroom (please ask if you specifically prefer a bath-only 4/5 star have to provide both)
Creaky bedroom chair (now replaced)
Full Waiter/Waitress Service for Breakfast (please ask if you like help with cereals/juices etc. The cooked bit is derved to table, as is porridge!)
Later Breakfast (see our reply to this point in March 2001)
Restricted Window Opening
(see our reply to this point in April 2001)
Creaky Floorboard
(no longer we hope)
Speedier Dinner Service (good food takes a bit of cooking)
Lack of Shelving in Bathrooms - 4 different rooms (added to three of them)
Hot Water in Bathroom
(now much improved following addition of water heaters on 3rd floor)
No Double Glazing - 3 mentions (see our reply to this point in April 2001)
No Fire in Lounge Fireplace
(something we are considering as the lounge is due for redecoration)

The Bad Part (ii) - stuff we can't sort out or choose not to

No Pool Table
No Front Doorbell
(there is to the duty managers room but not the bar)
No Staff Name Tags
(not our style)
No Linen Knapkins/Fresh Flowers/Candles on the Restaurant Tables
(not our style)
No Net Curtains in Bedroom

No Smile on Barman's Face (not his style-good beer tho')
No Bottled Mineral Water in room - 3 mentions (it's free at St Ann's Well in town centre)
No Bar or Blonde in room
(do we come accross like that sort of place)
No Lock on Bathroom Door
No Late Night Room Service

Not 100% Non Smoking - 2 mentions

No Bath Mats - 2 mentions
No Fairly Traded Coffee in rooms
No Air Conditioning in Restaurant
(this is Buxton)
No follow up alarm call 10 mins after oiginal call
(if you don't pick the receiver up and leave the phone ringing it will stop and repeat the alarm call at least 2 times after a few minutes-if you do answer it it won't. Anyway you now have self setting radio/alarm clocks-these are armed with a snooze function)
Don't Like Bath Lights
(see thru' blocks at the top of wall dividing bathroom & bedroom)

The Other

More TV Channels (you mean 12 isn't enough-there will soon be 16 anyway!)
Fussy Wallpaper Pattern (the minimalists are due in Buxton in 2066)
Too many Cereals! (obviously brought up by parents who never bought a new box unless the old one was totally empty)
Other Dining Tables are too close (come on, you can't catch anything and you can always whisper into each others' ears for privacy)
