So What do The Guests Really Think?
We make publicly available all the comments recorded by residents on the questionnaires that are left in every room. Naturally not every guest fills a form in, but by reporting REAL guests' feedback, we hope that the independent views expressed may prove helpful in deciding whether to stay or not.
The questionnaires asks two questions:
What was the most pleasing aspect of your stay?
If you were able to alter one thing, what would this be?
We have abbreviated comments only where they were exceptionally long. Where we feel the need to reply to any comments, these appear in RED print.

The bacon had a one inch by 1cm cut out of it. When I asked the waiter for an explanation, he said he would ask the chef. However he did not follow this up & no explanation was given. It was as if some-one else had been given this first. That is the Only explanation I can think of, as no other was given. Duvets would be better - I was bitten (probably the same thing that took a bite out of yr bacon - no one's been bitten before nor do we recycle guests' leftovers - slices of bacon sometimes stick together and tear when separated). Tile grout moldy (sic) and mildew, shower dripping, grout around bath rotten, walls and ceiling damp (bathroom has been redecorated now), “desk” too small, bizarre pictures on walls (Sharon Stone). No room service – just back from dinner; main course arrived before the starter! And a pint of beer costs £4!!! (correction - a pt of Peroni costs £4 - cask ale available @ £2.20 & lager £2.80). Customer service - hotel far more concerned with receiving their money than d/w my problem (FACT - you booked a family room to sleep 4, yet specified that there would only be 2 guests. FACT - we allocated you a family room with 2 beds (dbl & single) so that you could use the room as a twin or double). Our family rooms for 4 contain 3 beds, but as there were only 2 guests specified, it was pointless allocating a 3-bed room with the reduced space. FACT - You arrived with 2 extra guests, making 4 in total (2A/2C) - all our 3-bedded rooms were taken, so we dropped in a matress & bedding on an emergency basis to accomodate you. FACT - you asked what would happen if you decided not to stay - we advised full charges would apply as the hotel was fully booked and other guests had been turned away. Room was sub std, eg beds too small (beds are the norm - std 4' 6" Queen Sized doube bed & 3ft single bed plus std 3ft single mattress added), curtains worn, windows needed painting (now repainted) | 27/10/09 |

It would however be a nice touch if the manager spoke to his customers instead of walking around with his iPod ear plugs in (he’s a long stay guest – not manager – and they are NOT iPod ear phones – Shure SCL5’s....and he’s a foul mouthed and fairly boring twat at best – you had a lucky escape) |

As for noise, we do actively look to stamp out the problem and are happy for guests to report the matter asap to our Nt Porter- whether it's an excessively loud tv or just rowdiness. | The distance to the Opera House | The terrible sickening smell in the toilet which spread into the room (sorry, pipe blockage, now sorted). The number of staff serving at breakfast needs increasing during busy periods. More bread should be ordered to enable customers to enjoy the breakfast they ordered (I don't think we ran out did we?).
